Hello, my name is Danielle Whitaker, I’ve been with the ReadiTech team for about 6 months now. Recently I was given the opportunity to get our team a drone. I know what you’re thinking what would a technology company do with a drone. Well in the past few years drones have made great strides in their production.

Here at DRN we are still trying to figure a concrete use for our drone but as of now we use to take great pictures and videos of our company events. Here in North Dakota the rules and regulations on drones are acute. With that the opportunity for drones and their capabilities is great. I suppose you’d like to know what drones can do for you. Well the most common usage for drones in this region comes from farmers and ranchers. The drones can fly miles away from you, all while recording and taking pictures, most farmers and ranchers use it to check crop and cattle or even as a surveillance tool. Insurance companies use them in this same setting as well to check for damaged crops what not.

So, what if you aren’t a rancher, farmer or an insurance company? Drones are making an appearance in the photography industry as well as the marketing industry. There is even a drone circuit league which host tournaments around the country. You can also capture sports footage from different angles without having to physically be in that spot. Amazon and UPS are beginning to use drones to deliver packages in rural areas to save time and travel for the drivers. You’ll also see them being used on construction sites for surveys and progress checks. Law enforcement have reported to use drones to fly into dangerous situations and clearing areas before sending officers in.

These cool flying machines aren’t going anywhere anytime soon and are only going to be popping up more and more for different reasons. If you’d like to know more about drones or even about which ones suit your needs or interest you can contact the ReadiTech team we’d be happy to help you out!
