Greetings! My name is Sonja Bommersbach, DRN’s Human Resources Manager. I am grateful and proud to be celebrating my 17th year with this amazing technology solutions provider!
While we’re on the subject, let’s talk human resources – the people who make up DRN’s workforce. DRN consists of a nine-member board of directors and employs 50 full-time, talented individuals from the surrounding communities. A question often asked by candidates during the interview process comes to mind, “what do you enjoy most about working here”? The answers are plentiful and always include “the people”. Keep reading to find out why!
DRN as a company and cooperative provides a stellar example for employees and sets the bar high by giving back to the communities we serve through donations and community involvement. To highlight just a few examples, to date in 2017, DRN has donated over $12,000 to the communities we serve plus $12,000 in scholarships. DRN employees recently donated items of necessity to those affected by Hurricane Harvey and participated in a school supplies drive. We teamed together to raise over $20,000 to provide a service dog for a North Dakota Veteran with DRN, its board of directors and employee donations combined totaling over $11,000. In recent years, DRN employees donated 1,500+ pairs of socks to the Kedish House and 200 pairs to Sargent County Social Services, supplied the Ellendale Community Food Pantry with 25 assorted food/necessity baskets and the Ransom County Food Pantry with 25 Christmas baskets. In addition, DRN donated $250 to the Ellendale Community Food Pantry and $250 to the Ransom County Food Pantry on behalf of DRN Employees. We’ve participated in Bucket Full of Miracles, a Pay It Forward/Random Acts of Kindness challenge, and have given back in various other ways.
Most, if not all DRN employees, give of their time in some way, shape or form in their local communities from serving as mayor, city council member, volunteer firefighter and ambulance member to school board member, coach, Sunday school teacher, 4-H leader, etc. These are the people you connect with when you call our office, when we visit you at your home or business, or that you see out and about in your community. DRN is proud of its employees. The proof is in the people.
