Let's Go Digital!

Hello!  I’m Tim Steinwand, the Customer Experience Specialist here at DRN.  I have been assigned the lead on DRN’s Digital TV Conversion project, and I can truly say this a very exciting time for me and for DRN.  We are eager to have all our customers enjoy the quality and convenience of all Digital TV from DRN. 

I’d just like to give you a bit of information on why this conversion is occurring now.  The equipment that we use to provide analog service is at end of life, and instead of using resources to replace this equipment that is essentially obsolete, we are focusing on the future with our digital signal.  By going all digital, this enables us to be able to add more High Definition (HD) channels in the future, and to add HD programming to some current channels that are only available in Standard Definition now, because of bandwidth restrictions caused by the analog channels that we currently are carrying.

The digital transition will be finalized on March 1, 2018, and what this means for you is that you will need either a cable card device (TiVo box or MCard capable TV), or HD DTA box on each TV in your home to ensure that you will continue to receive DRN TV service once the conversion is complete.

One of the exciting features that DRN Digital TV offers with one of our boxes is an interactive guide.  This means you can use your remote control to scan channels and programs to get information about what is coming up on all DRN channels.  You will no longer have to wait for a scrolling guide to get to a certain channel to see what is on.

Also, there are some additional channels currently in our digital tier that are unavailable on our regular tier, and some channels that are already in HD on digital that are just in SD in the regular tier.

Even though the conversion complete date is next March, I would encourage you to order your boxes from DRN now, so that you can enjoy the quality and features of our Digital TV service now!!  Visit our website or call our customer service representatives at 344-5000 if you have any questions.
