Customer Care Specialist

General Summary:                                                                                         

Sells products and services related to and including telephone, cable television, internet services, and security systems (as well as any new and related services the company may elect to offer) to DRN customers recommending a complete technology solution to best fit their needs.  Answers customer questions about features, products, services, availability, speeds, and options. Provides level 1 technical support.  Provides billing/payment information in compliance with Customer Proprietary Network Information (CPNI).  Presents strong communications skills, good judgment, and a positive attitude in all undertakings.  Possess computer knowledge with speed and accuracy and the ability to work alone.  The successful applicant must be exceedingly well-organized, motivated, possess a strong work ethic and enjoy the day to day challenges of supporting DRN’s multiple service offerings.  The ability to positively interact with the public and staff in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, while remaining calm, focused, resourceful and efficient, is critical to this role. Further, applicant must be highly professional, well-versed in both written and verbal communications, and demonstrate superior attention to detail.

 

 Essential Job Functions:

  • Uses techniques such as up-selling, suggestive selling and offering sales promotions to make sales.  Maintains a high-level knowledge of company products, services, service territories, pricing and technical capabilities/limitations, hardware and others necessary information to reach the customer.  The Customer Care Specialist is responsible for providing first-level support, which includes but is not limited to troubleshooting and resolving customer issues, identifying user errors, password resets, creating, handling and resolving tickets.  The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent customer service skills, and aptitude to develop efficient troubleshooting skills.  Applicants should be familiar with current internet technologies such as browsing and searching internet and using email. 
  • Accepts and posts payments to customer accounts and makes daily deposits.  Investigates and resolves customer billing issues, applies approved credits/adjustments, and confers with other departments to resolve billing issues.  Follows CPNI regulations and procedures when accessing customer accounts.  Escalates issues to the Customer Care Supervisor as needed. 
  • Performs miscellaneous clerical duties such as filing, data entry and record maintenance.
  • Works with customers in person and by phone to answer questions regarding service, features, options, upgrades, and billing/payment concerns.  Initiates service orders to begin, upgrade or terminate service.
  • Communicates and explains the value and benefits of services to potential customers though establishing relationships and building strong rapport
  • Uses effective selling and customer service techniques to identify customer needs and drive sales results
  • Responsible for other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:    

  • Knowledge and abilities normally acquired through an Associate’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Prior customer service/technical experience desired.
  • Prior telecommunications experience helpful.

IT Internship – Ellendale, ND

DRN is excited to announce the IT Internship Program available for the 2018 summer.  DRN is seeking an IT leader of the future, who is interested in working in a fast-paced, dynamic telecommunications and IT environment.  As a DRN IT Intern, you will gain an understanding of the telecom business operations along with hands on experience in DRN’s different IT roles. The intern will assist the organization’s IS Team approximately June 4 through Aug. 10, 2018.

Principle responsibilities will include:

 Training Areas include:

  • Exposure to Telecom Business Operations
  • Implement new employee communication site
  • Update Intranet information and data
  • Education and hands on experience with telecom software
  • Assist with system administration responsibilities
  • Ability to multi-task and demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Special projects as assigned by IS Manager

Applicants must meet the following qualifications:

  • A high school senior accepted to an accredited college
  • College student enrolled in an accredited college
  • Be a computer science, CIS, Networking or other IT related major
  • Have an interest in the telecommunications industry
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Minimum GPA 3.0;

This position will be a 32 to 40 hour per week paid position with a reporting location of Ellendale, ND.

Accounting Internship

DRN, a telecommunications company, located in Ellendale, ND, is seeking a candidate with highly developed analytical skills who possess the ability to work with data from a variety of sources for complex analysis and decision making. The successful candidate will routinely gather data from various departments in order to develop reports and data integrations using tools such as IVUE, Connectwise and Microsoft Office. Those who are proven self-starters with a strong desire to learn are especially encouraged to apply.

Marketing/Communications Internship 

DRN, a telecommunications company, located in Ellendale, ND, is seeking to hire a bright, enthusiastic intern with strong knowledge and understanding of the digital media landscape, including various social media websites.  The intern will assist the organization’s Customer Service Manager approximately June 4 through Aug. 10, 2018.

Principle responsibilities will include:

  • Assist with social media strategy and postings;
  • Monitor and post on blogs, forums, and social networks;
  • Online outreach and promotion using Facebook, LinkedIn Twitter, and more;
  • Website and social media optimization;
  • Keyword analysis;
  • Gathering, editing, and writing editorial for printed and digital newsletters;
  • Creating and designing advertisements for newspapers;
  • Writing radio script for advertisements;
  • Assisting in composing and distributing news releases;
  • Attending trade shows and community events to promote DRN;
  • Plan, coordinated and publicize events, etc.; and 
  • Clerical and other duties as assigned by supervisor.

 Qualifications:

  • Junior or senior status in college;
  • Mass Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or other related major with an interest in the telecommunications industry;
  • Desktop publishing experience;
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Minimum GPA 3.0;
  • Organizational skills; and
